Parking lot pretty

I'm in training all week so I broke out some work wear to learn about how to be the most awesome literacy teacher in the world. Or at least to learn how to become a better literacy teacher. (And, okay, I'm a teacher who really embraces sentence fragments, but only on blogs! Or in columns! Not acceptable in more formal work! That's my disclaimer! Here's another sentence that ends in an exclamation point!)

I love to learn. I am such a nerd. I'm a nerd in a new polka-dot skirt and old ballet flats who takes pictures of her own feet in a windy grocery store parking lot. That is who I am.

Your feet are lovely. And if learning's nerdy then issue me a nerd's license! I'm fully qualified.

PS I love sentence fragments, too! And how!

Good for you for using sentence fragments. I've had to learn to use sentence fragments on my blog as my writing has had an academic bent to it.
And I've been afraid to revel in exclamation points as you have. I once worked for a website where the Managing Editor would scold us for using exclamation points with "We're excited, but not that excited."
Thanks for your comment on my blog. You are the only one who commented on the Cat Stevens video. He's my major crush, even now.

sentence fragments have their time and place, I agree. The way I write in my blog is almost the opposite of how I teach academic writing, so it's funny when my students read it and ask me about it and we have to get into a whole convo about appropriate and inappropriate styles of writing for academic work...
